Privacy policy

Short version: Beatalyzer keeps your playing on your device, and this website keeps nothing about you unless you send us a bug report. Here is the long version.

Last updated 2 October 2026 · Applies to the Beatalyzer app for iPhone and iPad and to vonba.net

No account. No tracking. No analytics. No ads. Beatalyzer has no servers of its own. Your takes, your history, your scores and everything the microphone hears are processed and stored on your device and never leave it, with the two exceptions you choose yourself: the optional AI coach, and a bug report you decide to send.

1. The app

What Beatalyzer stores, and where

Every exercise, challenge and session you record is saved in the app’s own storage on your iPhone or iPad, together with its analysis and score: your history, your Hall of Fame bests, your custom exercises and your settings. Nothing is uploaded, synced or backed up by us. If you use iCloud or iTunes device backups, Apple backs the app’s data up with the rest of your device under Apple’s terms, and that copy is under your control, not ours. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Microphone

Beatalyzer asks for microphone access only when you choose the microphone as your input. Audio is analysed on the device to detect note onsets. We do not record, store or transmit audio. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone; tap and MIDI input keep working without it.

MIDI

Bluetooth and USB MIDI connections are made by iOS. Beatalyzer reads note-on events to time your strokes. Nothing about the device or its data leaves your phone.

The optional AI coach

Beatalyzer’s own feedback is written on the device. If you turn on the AI coach, you enter your own API key for a provider you pick (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or Groq). The key is stored on your device only. When you ask for AI feedback, the app sends a summary of that take (tempo, pattern, timing statistics and the score, never audio and never your name) directly from your device to the provider you chose, and shows you the reply. That request is covered by the provider’s privacy policy and your agreement with them, not by this one; we never see it. Turn the AI coach off and nothing is sent.

What Beatalyzer does not do

It does not ask you to create an account, does not collect analytics or crash reports through third-party SDKs, does not use advertising identifiers, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not know who you are.

The App Store

Downloading, purchasing and reviewing the app happens through Apple’s App Store under Apple’s privacy policy. Apple may share aggregated, anonymous statistics about the app with us; we cannot identify you from them.

2. Bug reports and feedback

The one time we collect anything is when you send us a bug report or feedback, either from the form on our Support page or from the feedback screen inside the app. Both go to the same place and work the same way. Sending one is always your choice, and this is everything a report contains:

FieldRequired?Why we need it
Title and descriptionYesTo understand what went wrong. Please don’t put personal details in them.
Device model and iOS versionYes (filled in by the app)Most bugs only happen on some devices or versions.
App versionYes (filled in by the app)So we know whether the bug is already fixed.
Email addressNoOnly if you want a reply or an update when it’s fixed. Leave it empty and the report is anonymous.

We do not store your IP address, a device identifier or anything that links the report to you. A one-way hash of your IP address is kept for at most one hour to limit how many reports can be sent per hour; it is not kept with the report. Each new report is emailed to support@vonba.net and stored in the vonba.net database, which only the site administrator can read. Reports are kept while we work on the issue and deleted at the latest twelve months after it is closed. If you gave an email address, we use it only to reply about that report, and never for newsletters or marketing.

To have a report, or your email address, removed earlier, write to support@vonba.net from the address you gave and we will delete it.

3. This website

vonba.net sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no social buttons and loads nothing from third-party servers. The how-to videos are links that open on the video platform; nothing from it loads here until you click, and your visit there is governed by that platform’s policy. Like every web server, our host keeps standard access logs (IP address, requested page, browser type, time) for security and troubleshooting; they are rotated automatically and are not used to build profiles.

4. Children

Beatalyzer collects no personal data from anyone, so it collects none from children either. The feedback form is not aimed at children; if you believe a child has sent us their email address, write to us and we will delete it.

5. Your rights

Because the app stores everything on your device, you already hold all of it: delete the app, or individual sessions in History, to delete it. For anything you sent us through a bug report, you can ask to see it, correct it or have it deleted at any time by emailing support@vonba.net. Depending on where you live you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, and you can exercise all of them the same way.

6. Changes and contact

If we ever change what the app or the site collects, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Questions go to support@vonba.net. Beatalyzer and vonba.net are made by vonba.
